National Small Business Week 2025

National Small Business Week will take place May 4-10. This week is a time where extra focus is brought upon small businesses as we recognize their hard work, ingenuity, and dedication, including their contributions to the economy. Be on the look out for more information in the coming weeks!

 

 

2025 Construction Grants Program for Small Businesses  

 

The 2025 Construction Grants Program will provide financial support in the form of grants for small businesses within commercial corridors related to City-initiated construction projects. The program will target eight (8) construction corridors, identified and categorized as those in active construction (Small Business Construction Grant), as well as pre-construction (Mitigation Construction Grant) and post-construction (Accelerate Recovery Construction Grant). 

Applications for the Stabilization (Active) and Accelerate Recovery (Post) Grants will open May 1, 2025 , and the Mitigation (Pre) Grant will open on June 2, 2025. Find out about upcoming information sessions.

Ordinance Information Sessions - Small Business Economic Development Advocacy (SBEDA)

Effective, July 1, 2025 changes are coming to the City’s SBEDA program. These changes will affect eligibility requirements and tools available. For more information, please register for one of our virtual information sessions. 

Calling All Registered Vendors: To ensure you receive updates on how these changes will impact your business, please log into your vendor account and update your contact information.

April is Financial Literacy Month 

April is National Financial Literacy Month. It's an excellent opportunity to review and upgrade your financial business smarts. We want you to succeed and are happy to share the many resources available to small businesses through our partners and other sources.

Coming up on April 30, Maestro Entrepreneur Center will be hosting the event, Being Bankable to Grow Your Business. The UTSA Small Business Development Center (SBDC) has many resources and events, both in-person and online. And Launch SA offers online resources that help you as a business owner, both financially and with overall growth. Learn more through Launch SA Link.
