Observed every August, National Black Business Month is a time to recognize and support Black-owned businesses locally and across the United States. Black-owned businesses are vital to the economic empowerment of our city and the Black community. They provide jobs, serve as cultural and social hubs, and foster economic independence.

Texas Music Incubator Rebate (TMIR) Program for Music Venues and Festivals
The Texas Music Incubator Rebate (TMIR) Program offers eligible music venues and festival promoter's rebates of up to $100,000 on mixed beverage gross receipts taxes or sales taxes paid on beer and wine in the previous fiscal year. The program is designed to support and strengthen Texas’ music industry by reinvesting tax revenue into the venues and festivals that fuel local music economies.
Applications open September 1, 2025 through November 30, 2025. Learn more.

Public Works Dashboard
The dashboard offers an easy way to quickly find a wealth of information about hundreds of City projects. You can search maps to find bond, street, alley, sidewalk, and drainage projects. Click on the project for quick access to its construction timeline, phase and cost, among other info. The dashboards also feature links to info-packed project pages for every 2022 bond project.
