Buy Local This Holiday Season - Small Business Saturday
Last month we had the privilege to host local small business owners as we celebrated Small Business Saturday (11/30) with a City proclamation. The unity shown by small businesses and supporters was impactful as the City mayor and council members applauded the importance of the small business community in San Antonio. Small Business Saturday was also the kick-off to the Buy Local holiday season.
The City of San Antonio supports our local businesses that create jobs, boost our local economy and preserve the diverse culture that distinguishes the uniqueness of our city. San Antonio is home to over 45,000 verified small businesses. A 10% shift in market share would yield measurable economic impact benefits for the city resulting in 6,000 jobs, $268 million in local earnings and a total economic impact of more than $700 million each year.
