Capitol Ave from W Hildebrand Ave to Fredericksburg Rd in the Beacon Hill Area is part of the FY 2022 -2027 BOND F-Streets Program in District 1.

Improvements Include:
- Pavement Reconstruction
- Sidewalks: Existing sidewalks will be replaced to include the width required as per ADA standards. New sidewalks will be added to close existing gaps.

Estimated Construction Timeline: Phase 1 - Winter 2025 - Winter 2026
- This project will be built in multiple construction phases. Prior to each construction phase, a separate notification will be distributed to impacted residents.
Estimated Timeline Construction Seasons are identified as: Winter (January, February, March), Spring (April, May, June), Summer (July, August, September), and Fall (October, November, December.)
Project Update: September 17, 2025
Capitol Ave (from W Hildebrand Ave to W King Hwy) will be fully closed for three days for the placement of the final layer of asphalt.
The closure will be from Wednesday, September 24 to Friday, September 26.
Working hours are from sunrise to sundown each day, weather permitting. The road will reopen to traffic each night.
- The intersections within this section of Capitol will also be closed. Traffic will be detoured to Michigan Ave.
- On Friday, September 26, W Kings Hwy will also be closed from Michigan to the dead end past Capitol.
- After this road closure, this section of the Capitol Ave road reconstruction project will be substantially complete. The entire Capitol Ave project is scheduled to be complete in Summer 2026.
Project Update: April 30, 2025
Beginning this week, Fulton Avenue west of Capitol Avenue will be closed to through traffic for up to four weeks for road excavation. I-10 can be accessed via Summit Avenue and Hildebrand Avenue.
