What you need to know:
EZ-Bel Construction will start work on Covel Road (Ray Ellison Boulevard to Old Pearsall Road) as early as February 23, 2026, thru Spring 2027. The project will reconstruct the existing roadway by removing the asphalt pavement and replacing it with a concrete pavement. The project also will replace and upsize 4 culvert pipes to improve drainage efficiency.
The contractor will start construction on the following phases:
(All work is weather permitting):
Phase 1: Reconstruct Covel Gardens driveway
● 2-way traffic will be maintained | 3 months
Phase 2: Reconstruct Northbound Lane, driveways, and culverts
● 1-way traffic (southbound only) | 7 months
Phase 3: Reconstruct Southbound Lane, driveways & culverts
● 1-way traffic (southbound only) | 7 months
Phase 4: Reconstruct median at Covel Rd. & Ray Ellison Dr.
● Full access at intersection | 1 month
Note:
● Phase 2 & 3: Covel Road from Ray Ellison to Patrol Rd will have the northbound traffic lane closed. To facilitate traffic, one traffic lane southbound will be opened. A northbound detour route for Covel road will be to Old Pearsall Rd, to Loop 410 access road, to Ray Ellison.
