2022-2027 Bond Project: South Brazos Street (Alazan Creek to Apache Creek)

The Bond Project will construct roadway improvements to include sidewalks, curbs, driveway approaches, bicycle facilities, drainage and traffic improvements as applicable and within available funding.

What you need to know:

The contractor Elecnor Belco will begin SAWS utility work between Colima St. and Apache Creek, as early as September 15, 2026. This segment will involve replacing underground water lines, which will require road demolition projected to continue through November 2026.

Traffic details:

The southbound lane will be closed on South Brazos St. between Colima St. and Apache Creek. Northbound lane will remain open. Southbound traffic will be detoured to Trinity St.
The westside sidewalk will be closed; the eastside sidewalk will remain open.
