What you need to know:
- South Alamo (Market Street to Commerce) - Temporary Closure: Beginning as early as Wednesday, January 14, 2026, for 2 days, the contractor will close traffic on South Alamo from (Market to Commerce). Detours will be east to Bowie, westbound to Commerce, then southbound to S. Presa. This closure is necessary to complete overhead traffic signals.
- South Alamo & Market Street Traffic Switch: Beginning as early as Thursday, January 15, 2026, through January 31, 2026, the contractor will switch construction from the northwest corner to the southeast corner at South Alamo & Market Street. To facilitate traffic, eastbound Market Street traffic will be able to take a left or right turn on South Alamo, and one traffic lane eastbound on Market Street will be open. Market Street pedestrian access is maintained and will be detoured to the westside. The traffic switch is necessary to accommodate roadway, traffic signal and sidewalk work.
- Eastside sidewalks opened from Nueva to Cesar Chavez, and closed from Market to Nueva
- Westside sidewalks opened from Market to Nueva, and closed from Nueva to Cesar Chavez
- S. Presa has reopened to thru traffic
