What you need to know:
- Update - South Alamo Intersection Asphalt Work: At the South Alamo & Cesar Chavez intersection the contractor has completed the removal of the first layer of asphalt (milling). This work is in preparation for a new asphalt roadway surface. The intersection remains open with traffic on the milled remaining asphalt. On Friday, March 13, 2026, as early as 8:00am the contractor will replace the final layer of asphalt. Two-way traffic will remain open during operations.
- Flagmen and Police Officers will be directing traffic as needed. Varying sidewalk detours and signage will be in place for pedestrian access. See map provided
- Please Note: Previously scheduled intersection work adjusted due to weather. All work is weather permitting. If work is delayed it will be rescheduled the next available day.
Overall Project Information:
- Reconstruction work continues on South Alamo (Market Street to Cesar Chavez)
- South Alamo continues to have a single southbound traffic lane open
- Eastside sidewalks opened from Market to Cesar Chavez
- Westside sidewalks opened from Nueva to Market to Cesar Chavez
- Cesar Chavez traffic lanes are open
- Business access, parking lot and pedestrian access provided
