2022-2027 Bond Project: Sidney Brooks Drive (City Base Landing to South New Braunfels)

The Bond Project will construct area roadway improvements to include sidewalks, curbs, driveway approaches, bicycle facilities, drainage, traffic improvements, and other improvements as applicable and within available funding. This is a multi-phased project.

Estimated Timeline Construction Seasons are identified as: Winter (January, February, March), Spring (April, May, June), Summer (July, August, September), and Fall (October, November, December).

Project Budget:

2022 General Obligation Bond (Streets)          $       15,000,000.00

CPS Energy                                                     $            1,084,249.69

San Antonio Water System                              $            353,465.51

Total                                                                $        16,437,715.20

What you need to know:

 

E-Z Bel Construction continues to make great progress on the Sidney Brooks project. 

Traffic Details:

  • Road closures are currently in place on Josue Sanchez & Chesney Road between Lindbergh Landing and Sidney Brooks Drive to complete roadway paving. This work is expected to wrap up by the end of September.
  • The Sidney Brooks Drive eastbound lane between S. New Braunfels Avenue and City Base Landing remains closed for road reconstruction through December 2026.
  • Westbound traffic on Disney Brooks remains open.
  • Please see the map below for the detour route. 

Ongoing Work:

  • Crews continue installing drainage structures and storm sewer lines throughout the corridor.
