Proposed World Heritage Street Name Changes Survey Report
The purpose of this community survey was to assess the community’s input on renaming several streets in the World Heritage Area. In 2016, the San Antonio River Authority commissioned a study led by CP&Y Inc. to examine ways to improve signage and wayfinding throughout the city’s World Heritage area. The study included trails and routes and recommended renaming some surface streets to create a continuous Mission Road that would serve as the World Heritage Trail (formerly Mission Trail). The change would eliminate confusion for residents, tourists, and visitors to the San Antonio Missions. There were eight proposed street name changes and the community was invited to indicate their support for or against each individual proposed street name change.
