Inanunsyo ng Lungsod ng San Antonio ang simula ng Bike Network Plan (BNP) nito, isang inisyatiba para pahusayin ang imprastraktura ng bisikleta, isulong ang mas ligtas na kondisyon sa pagbibisikleta, at suportahan ang isang mas konektadong San Antonio.
Ang lungsod ng San Antonio ay nagpahayag ng inicio ng Bike Network Plan (BNP), isang iniciativa para sa mejorar la infraestructura para sa bicicletas, promover condiciones más seguras para andar en bicicleta y apoyar un San Antonio más conectado.

Residents can still provide valuable feedback through comment cards and map comments at the event. This feedback will be incorporated into the final plan where applicable, with a completed plan expected early next year.

2011
The 2011 San Antonio Bicycle Master Plan & Implementation Strategy, led by the City of San Antonio’s Office of Environmental Policy, was adopted by San Antonio City Council on September 29, 2011.
$150,000 was subsequently allocated for plan implementation.
2016
Annual funding of $1,000,000 for Bike Infrastructure Maintenance Plan (Bike IMP) begins.
2022
The 2011 Bicycle Master Plan eventually required an update to enhance safety & accessibility, so $2.7 million was allocated in the FY 2022 Budget to update the 2011 Bike Master Plan into the Bike Network Plan (BNP).
2023
Bike Network Plan data collection begins:
- Audit of existing conditions / assessment of bike facility Inventory
- Launch map-based survey to San Antonio residents
- Initiate meetings with transportation partners and stakeholders
BNP Phase I
Phase 1 of the BNP is completed. The public gave insight into their bike riding habits, their desire to ride bikes, and whether they'd consider other modes of transportation in getting to work, school, or other activities.
BNP Phase II
Phase 2 of the BNP is completed. The public was asked to contribute to a brief survey to better understand what kind of bike infrastructure is preferred, as well as potential solutions to biking issues in San Antonio.
BNP Phase III
Phase 3 of collecting input from the public is complete. This phase involved highlighting key connection points between bike riders, future bike riders, and their destinations.
Phase 4: Analyze the data
Using the data and public input, the Transportation Department is designing a comprehensive, safe, comfortable bike network for the City to be recommended to the City Council by early 2025.

Bike Network Plan (BNP) is accepted by City Council! There will be an implementation component to the plan to guide future funding and bond efforts in street and bicycle facilities.
BNP Implementation
Projects are being identified for design in collaboration with City departments such as Capital Delivery, Public Works, Parks & Recreation, and council districts.
