New Art Dedication: Ujualnan (Grand Sky) in Pearsall Park

Mon, Oct 27 2025 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
838 Old Pearsall Rd, San Antonio, TX 78242, USA Map

Join the City of San Antonio’s Council District 4, along with the Departments of Arts & Culture, Parks & Recreation, and Public Works, in celebrating the completion of Ujualnan (Grand Sky) by San Antonio artist Doroteo Garza. This sculptural series, inspired by the planets of our solar system, takes its name from the word Ujualnan, meaning “Grand Sky” in Pajalate—a Coahuiltecan language once spoken on the lands of Yanaguana (San Antonio). With this work, Garza pays tribute to the wisdom of our ancestors and the hope of future generations.
