Background

Over a five-year period, the intersection of Oak Hill Road at Ingram Road has been the site of 37 vehicle crashes. Improvements are being proposed primarily at the Ingram Road and Culebra Road intersections to improve safety for all users.

In 2023, the Transportation Department performed a Safety Assessment and speed study to determine improvement options.

In 2024, the Public Works Department secured funding to upgrade the signal and install signs through the Highway Safety Improvement Program in partnership with TxDOT.

In 2024, the Transportation Department secured funding to complete the intersection improvements at Ingram Road. The project also includes funds to refresh pavement markings and install additional warning signs near the Culebra Road intersection.

Safety Improvements

The Transportation Department will:

  • Install end-of-roadway warning signs and plant vegetation on Ingram Road visible to northbound Oak Hill Road Drivers;

  • Install intersection warning signs on Oak Hill Road approaching Ingram Road;

  • Install an advanced warning and yield sign on Oak Hill Road approaching the Culebra Road intersection;

  • Refresh pavement markings along Oak Hill Road between War Arrow Drive and Culebra Road; and

  • Install a four way stop at Oak Hill Road and Viva Max Drive.

These improvements will compliment recent upgrades to the Ingram Road at Oak Hill Road traffic signal by the Public Works Department and Texas Department of Transportation as well as the pavement markings that were refreshed on Oak Hill Road between Ingram Road and War Arrow Drive.
