Vision Zero SA Action Plan

Vision Zero is a global initiative to end all deaths and serious injuries from traffic crashes. San Antonio joins the world in using Vision Zero policies to approach our goal to achieve zero traffic deaths and serious injuries. Traffic deaths are preventable; no one has to die or be seriously hurt from using their streets. Since the adoption of the 2015 San Antonio Vision Zero Action Plan, a lot has changed. We need your help to decide what goals, policies, and projects to keep, add, or remove as we develop our 2024 Vision Zero Action Plan!

Vision Zero in San Antonio was establis in 2015. San Antonio’s Vision Zero Action Plan was the first in Texas and followed cutting-edge guidance at the time.

2016- Ongoing: Establishing Safety Improvements

The City has embarked on numerous safety-focused infrastructure projects and policies, including deploying dozens of mid-block crossings on high-injury corridors around the city - improving safety for pedestrians crossing busy roadways like Fredericksburg Rd., Culebra Rd. and West Commerce.
